The NCSeT Research group at Fordham University has just completed a pilot study of a biology text with high school students who are classified as LD, are ESL/ELL with Spanish as their first language.

Recently Carol Kennedy at Fordham Unviersity conducted the study using digital text adapted from Regents biology text, using English-Spanish content-specific vocabulary and content- specific sentences text supports. The control group had access only to the digital text, while the treatment group had access to the hyperlinked text supports. The study was conducted with students in two local high schools, who are classified as LD, are ESL/ELL with Spanish as their first language.
Dr. Kennedy is now in the process of compiling and analyzing the data and interviews to see how effective this type of supported text is with this population.
